Superfruit Smoothie

Here is the recipe for the Superfruit Smoothie that we made for the country house brunch this past weekend.

Superfruit Smoothie
Serves 4

1 cup blueberries (frozen)
1 cup raspberries (frozen)
2 kiwifruits (peeled)
2 oranges (peeled)
oat milk
1 tsp cinnamon
0,5 tsp cardamom
1 tbsp linseed oil

Put the fruit in a blender and pour oat milk until it covers the fruit. Add the spices and linseed oil and blend. Pour into glasses and garnish with cinnamon.

Lovely colors. I haven’t sen oat milk in my market. Did you make it or buy it?

  7. Posted 23 Feb ’10 at 13:46 | #

    Hey Carol!
We buy oat milk in our normal grocery store, actually we buy and use all kind of different plant milks … :) If you can’t find it in a normal store you should try a health food store. Hope you’ll find it!

I am a smoothie junkie!! I love to make the green ones with spinach, mango, strawberries and blueberries. They’re so healthy. I like how you added kiwi, I’ll have to try that.

    Hey Luise and David,
Your recipes are fantastic and your blog- stunning! I have one quick question: what’s the type of blender that you use… I used Kenwood until now but been not very happy with it, so consider buying a new one… does it have to be Vitamix, Blendtec or you would recommend yours?! Thank you!

    All the best!

This looks delicious! I love making green smoothies for my family but never would have thought to use cardamon or linseed oil. Another great smoothie recipe with a superfood is here: http://radicchio.com/recipes/superfood-smoothie/

My 5 yr old son does not like to eat healthy and I’m beginning to realize the food he eats effects him now and will later in life. On that note – what would be some good smoothies to make for him both tasty and healthy? Thanks so much!!

Cecilia just tells me she’s going to throw something out….that occasionally happens, but more often we just make sure we make something out of the older items, and I eat it no matter what it tastes like….but with spices most things are pretty tasty! It was suggested to me that carrots are a regular item that get lost in the veggie crispier, I reckon veggies are easily turned into delicious soup, here’s a great carrot soup recipe I use. Fruit can often go off pretty quickly, but luckily tastes just as delicious at that point in a smoothie, with a little cinnamon or honey it’s hard to go wrong, like in this recipe. […]
